Points mean prizes at Bellochant­uy SWI

Bellochant­uy SWI concluded its year’s business with the AGM and prize distributi­on in Glenbarr Hall. The group welcomed its new office bearers: Lois Fell, president; Libby Kerr, secretary; and Jill Lines, treasurer. Following supper, which was provided by the committee, came the highlight of the evening: the presentati­on of trophies. Lois Fell won the M M Dean shield for the most points in monthly competitio­ns. Libby Kerr was runner-up and Margaret McKinnon took third place. The M Dean tray for the highest number of points gained in the housewives’ competitio­n was won by Margaret McKinnon, with Lois Fell and Libby Kerr taking second and third respective­ly. The Barbara Blackwood plate for most points in handicraft competitio­ns went to Libby Kerr. Second was Margaret McKinnon and third Lois Fell. Lois Fell won the M Dean quaich for most points in the bulb show, with Karen Kendrick in second place and Libby Kerr third. Libby Kerr won the Silver Cup for the best plant in the bulb show. Lois Fell was runner-up and Nettie Semple came third. The Allan rose bowl, for the best exhibit in the bulb show was won by Linda Bryce. Libby Kerr won the final award of the evening, the M McNaughton Cup for the most points in the federation show. Bellochant­uy SWI extends an invitation to their annual coffee evening on Thursday July 12 at 7.30pm in Glenbarr Hall where there will be competitio­ns, a homebaking sale and the opportunit­y to enjoy a friendly chat.
