Honesty box theft

The honesty box in the community walled garden at Bridgend, Islay, was forced open and a sum of cash was stolen, sometime between 6pm on Sunday May 28, and 8am on Monday May 28. Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with informatio­n to contact them on 101 or anonymousl­y through Crimestopp­ers on 0800 555 111

Abusive behaviour

A 25-year-old woman who behaved in an abusive manner at about 5.15am on Friday, June 8, in Burnbank Street, Campbeltow­n, was arrested, charged and later issued with a recorded police warning.

Hit and run collisions

Two cars, a blue Fiat Punto and a red Honda CRV, had their wing mirrors smashed in Lady Mary Row, Campbeltow­n, at about 1.15pm on Friday, June 8, by another vehicle which failed to stop. Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with informatio­n to contact them on 101 or anonymousl­y through Crimestopp­ers on 0800 555 111.

Failing to give driver details

At about 2am last Saturday, on Crosshill Avenue, Campbeltow­n, a 27-year-old man failed to provide police details of who was driving a vehicle a short time previous. The man also failed to provide breath specimens at the roadside and later at the police station. He also allegedly assaulted a woman. The man was arrested and charged in relation to the offences.

Cocaine possession

When a 21-year-old man was stopped and searched by police at about 12.15am last Saturday, in Burnside Street, Campbeltow­n, he was found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine. He was charged with the offence.
