Free school meals and clothing applicatio­ns

Pupils from primary one through to S6 are eligible for free meals and grants provided their parents or carers are in receipt of benefits. Applicatio­ns for assistance for the 2018/19 school session are being accepted by Argyll and Bute Council. Support can be provided for parents or carers receiving the following: income support, income based jobseeker’s allowance, income related employment and support allowance, child tax credit but not working tax credit and income should not exceed £16,105, child tax credit and working tax credit income should not exceed £6,420, support under Part VI of the Immigratio­n and Asylum Act 1999, universal credit: monthly take home pay for period must be under £610. Anyone who received an award during 2017/18 session must re-apply for this to continue. A school clothing grant of £100 is available for people receiving any of the following: income support, income based jobseeker’s allowance, income related employment and support allowance, housing benefit council tax reduction, child tax credit and working tax credit – income should not exceed £6,420 or universal credit – monthly take home pay for period must be under £610.
