Campbeltown Courier

Dark clouds, silver lining

-

Sir, Friday the July 13 was unlucky for me as I got my first flat tyre, slashed on a small but deep pothole. There were no houses nearby and I had no mobile phone signal. I was trying to figure out how to use my jack when a car stopped behind me and asked if I was okay. The lady driver flagged down a white van, as she knew the driver would be able to help. He repositioned the jack and produced a power tool from his van to easily remove the wheel nuts. I apologised profusely for making them stop and keeping them late but they both waved my concerns and apologies away with a smile. So I would like to say a massive thank you to John McTaggart for fixing my wheel without a complaint or even a roll of the eyes and my neighbour Jane McCorkindale for stopping when she saw I was in trouble. Kindness is often a rare thing, but not in Campbeltown and Southend. I am so very grateful to live in such a caring and friendly place.

Tripti Samal, Southend, South Kintyre.
