Kintyre Seasports Project consultation

-

Consultants developing the full business case (FBC) for Campbeltown Seasports Project want the community to come aboard with suggestions and opinions. Two consultation days at the end of the month are aimed at ensuring the FBC team from John Renshaw Architects are fully informed and armed with the facts to build the best business case, funding case and planning application possible. Anyone is welcome to attend at Campbeltown Sailing Club, Low Askomil, on either Tuesday August 28 from 3pm to 4.30pm or 6pm to 7.30pm to learn about KSP and state their views or August 29 from 9am to noon. A spokesperson from the consulting team said: ‘The Kintyre Seasports Project has moved along incredibly well. ‘The concept is well developed and has gained both local and national support. It is clear that this is a unique and valuable project and could make a real difference to the Campbeltown community by delivering healthy pastimes, skills, leadership and confidence to both youths and adults alike through a connection to the sea. ‘KSP’s team has worked extremely hard to develop an outline business case, and a clear vision of how the facility could run, and to bring onboard both volunteers and potential funders. ‘In order to realistically deliver the project, KSP needs to show that its project is deliverable, fundable, is realistically of a benefit to the community of Campbeltown and also has a model that can survive into the future. To do this, it needs to produce a full business case. ‘The FBC looks at all elements of KSP, produces a detailed business plan, operational plan and financial projections, confirms the best most practical location and then moves to design the right facility. ‘Ultimately, it will deliver both planning and building warrant and be ready to move, subject to funding. ‘Campbell Fox and his team have gained a huge amount of knowledge and the support of numerous stakeholders. ‘They need your support to clarify the detail and to highlight and overcome any likely hurdles.’ On the Wednesday from 9am to 1pm, Martin Latimer, the person charged with refining the business plan and projections - will be available for one-to-one meetings to look in more details at problems, solutions or new ideas. Please confirm attendance to Wendi Cuffe wendicuffe@ btinternet.comorifunableto attend but wanting to discuss KSP please call Mr Latimer on 07710611117 or email martin.latimer@ blueseaconsultingllp.com
