Sultans of Swing prove golfing prowess

The Sultans of Swing proved their prowess in Machrihani­sh Golf Club’s September Open Am-Am. The team, consisting of Jim McCallum, Robert McDonald, Charles Robertson and Craig Colville, had the best score in the competitio­n on Saturday September 8. The competitio­n format was teams of four with the best two nett scores at each hole counting. A club spokespers­on said: ‘The Sultans of Swing really did swing well to return an excellent winning score of 118. ‘The event was generously sponsored by McFadyens Contractor­s which is greatly appreciate­d by the golf club and the competitor­s. ‘Thanks also to the sponsors of the special prizes.’ Full results: 1 J McCallum/R McDonald/C Robertson/C Colville (Sultans of Swing) 118, 2 G MacMillan/G Grant/M Paterson/P Paterson (Where’s the Burdies?!) 122 (BIH), 3 L Haldane/J.
