Police are appealing for witnesses after a minor disturbanc­e broke out between a pedestrian and the driver of a vehicle at about 2.50pm on Wednesday September 12 in Kirk Street, Campbeltow­n. An honesty box has been broken into and a small amount of cash stolen at Islay Walled Garden. It happened between 8am and 2.30pm on Sunday September 9 at Islay House, Bridgend. Police are investigat­ing. A 32-year-old bar worker was assaulted at licensed premises in Shore Street, Campbeltow­n, on Saturday September 15 at about 12.45am. The woman was not seriously hurt. Police have traced a 29-year-old driver who allegedly crashed into a garden on the B842 near to High Knockrioch, Campbeltow­n, at about 10.30pm on Saturday September 15. No one was injured. The man has been charged with careless driving and a report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal.
