Join stroke awareness campaign and get baking

-

Sir, I’m calling on budding bakers to get involved in the Stroke Association’s Give A Hand and Bake Week running from October 22 to 28, 2018. The purpose of the month is to encourage people to get out their rolling pins, make their favourite cakes and hold bake sales to raise awareness of stroke, raise funds to prevent stroke and support those who have had a stroke. I’ve joined the charity to invite local residents to host their own. I discovered I had high blood pressure and that I have a very high risk of having a stroke. Since then I’ve done all I can to change my lifestyle, and make sure I check my blood pressure regularly. I also recently discovered the fantastic work that the Stroke Association does supporting stroke survivors and their families and that’s why I’m asking you to join us this autumn and get stuck in with Give a Hand and Bake. This fabulous charity fundraiser is the perfect excuse to get creative in the kitchen. Visit stroke.org.uk/GAH to sign up for a Give a Hand and Bake fundraising pack and to find out more about My Stroke Guide and other support offered by the Stroke Association. Nick Nairn, celebrity Scottish chef.
