Investigation work begins for Tarbert investment project
Scottish Water’s plans to improve Tarbert’s sewer network and tackle flooding in the area is about to begin with investigation work. Site investigations will inform the design and implementation of improvements needed to help reduce the risk of flooding in the village’s Harbour Street and Barmore Road. Work is expected to take four weeks starting from Monday, September 24, and will take place along Barmore Road from The Victoria Hotel progressing to Harbour Street near to the Loch Fyne Gallery. Full pedestrian access will be maintained but there will be temporary traffic lights and parking restrictions in place. Ruaridh MacGregor, corporate affairs regional manager at Scottish Water, said the work was scheduled to avoid the busy summer tourism season, including last weekend’s music festival. ‘We’d also like to remind people that all local businesses will be open as normal during this time and thank everyone for their patience and understanding,’ added Mr MacGregor.
