Loganair is flying high as airline of the year
Just over a year since it began ‘flying solo’, Loganair, which services Campbeltown Airport, has been named ‘airline of the year’ by the European Regional Airline Association. Collecting the gold award at a ceremony at Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Wednesday October 10, the Scottish airline was recognised for its impressive achievements across the last 12 months. To herald the receipt of the award, Loganair is launching a golden ticket competition for its customers, with the chance to win 12 return tickets on its network. Loganair was honoured as an ‘exceptional regional airline which has rebuilt its commercial infrastructure after the end of its franchise’ while implementing ‘a complete rebrand’ undertaken by a ‘young and inspirational CEO’. The judging panel comprised senior industry experts, including past CEOs of European airlines, independent aviation journalists and industry academics from a variety of European countries. Loganair’s managing director, Jonathan Hinkles, who collected the award said: ‘Receiving an award of this calibre is a tremendous privilege, highlighting everything Loganair has achieved since flying solo last year. The team has worked incredibly hard to build a regional airline, providing sustainable and reliable services for the communities to which we fly. ‘The foundations that we have laid over the last year will serve Loganair well for decades to come, and we’re very much looking forward to playing a leading role in the future of the UK’s regional air services.’ To enter the golden ticket competition, entrants must ‘like’ the airline’s Facebook page or ‘follow’ its Twitter account, and state their favourite destination and why in a comment.
