Campbeltown shoppers to help deliver Tesco centenary grants

Campbeltown’s Tesco customers will be given the opportunity to vote for local community projects to help them secure grants this summer.

The supermarket is marking its 100th year with two special Bags of Help funding rounds and a huge £100,000 funding pot in north and east Scotland, which includes the Campbeltown store.

Bags of Help, run in partnership with greenspace scotland, sees funding awarded to thousands of local community projects every year. So far in Scotland, Bags of Help has awarded £9.5 million to more than 3,500 local projects.

In Campbeltown, the first round of voting begins this month and customers can cast their votes using blue tokens handed out at checkouts. The shortlisted groups for this round are: Cardiac Risk in the Young, CLAN Cancer Support and Maggie’s Centres. Grants of £25,000, £15,000 and £10,000 are up for grabs.
