Dalintober shows them how it’s done
A team of pupils and staff members from Dalintober Primary School and Early Learning and Childcare went to the Scottish Learning Festival in SEC, Glasgow.
They had been invited by Education Scotland to give a presentation on ‘How Good Is Our School?’
This is part of the curriculum ensuring well being, equality and inclusion, and was part of the Health and Wellbeing Expo open to delegates at the festival.
Pupils and staff gave examples of initiatives at the school to raise attainment in literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing in both the primary school and early learning section.
At the festival they shared fruit from the school allotment, handed out ‘thoughts of kindness’ and entertained delegates with ‘better movers and thinkers’ physical education course activities, yoga, Boomwhackers tuned percussion tubes from their music lessons, and not forgetting the Dalintober School song.
‘It was a fantastic experience for all involved and we thank Education Scotland and all who spent time with our pupils at the event,’ said head teacher Caroline Armour.
‘It was a great pleasure to showcase our work, demonstrating Dalintober’s commitment to raising attainment, equity and inclusion for all.’
The children have also newly appointed pupil, eco and sports councils for the coming year and Finlay Wilson, P6, and Gabriella van Poecke, P7, are the new Rights Respecting Schools Ambassadors.
