Campbeltown Brass ensembles sweep board
Campbeltown Brass took all the top spots in the ensemble classes at the Scottish Brass Band Association’s West of Scotland Solo and Ensemble Competition on Saturday October 26.
In both junior and intermediate solo competitions there were 18 entries – nine of which were from Campbeltown Brass.
Adjudicator Anne Crookston praised the quality and high standard throughout all sections and specified that she did not award any bronze prizes as the level of playing was so good.
Conductor Stephanie Mitchell told the Courier: ‘I was extremely proud of every single member of Campbeltown Brass who performed at the competition last weekend. Myself and Katrina Barr really do appreciate the commitment from all the parents and children and the on-going hard work that has always been behind the scenes for more than 30 years.’
The first four in each section qualify for the Youth Solo and Ensemble Finals on
February 8 2020, in Howden Park Centre in Livingston.
