Hurrah! It’s time for Children in Need!

-

‘Every year I’m continuously amazed by the remarkable efforts of supporters across the UK who go above and beyond for the charity and the generosity of BBC viewers. We are hugely grateful.’ - Kate Phillips, controller, entertainment commissioning at the BBC.

The annual BBC Children in Need event has worked so hard since 1980 to raise money to help disadvantaged youngsters in the UK.

This year the big TV night is Friday November 15 where all sorts of stars take to the screen to join in, getting everyone to have fun and raise cash. But we have our own stars of Children in Need and they are the youngsters who live here and do so much to help children who they know have not been fortunate as themselves. What a big-hearted and talented bunch they are. The children from the classes Primary 4-7 at Drumlemble Primary School designed these advertisements as part of the Wyvex Media event.

BBC Children In Need relies on the generosity and creativity of the thousands of supporters and fundraisers who raise millions of pounds for the charity every year. To date, the UK public has raised over £1 billion for children and young people facing disadvantage across the UK. Next Friday a fantastic line-up will present the annual BBC Children In Need Appeal show on BBC One, as they help raise money. Broadcast live from the BBC’s Elstree studios we can expect a special night full of fun for all ages hosted by Tess Daly, Ade Adepitan, Graham Norton, Mel Giedroyc and Marvin and Rochelle Humes.

It will be an unmissable night of entertainment and fundraising for the whole family

Plus, comedian Tom Allen will also be taking on hosting duties this year as he joins the BBC Children In Need presenting line-up for the first time.
