United Auctions sold 273 calves and 131 breeding cattle last Tuesday at Oban.

Sixty-nine bullock calves sold to £590 for a 340kg LimousinX from Stillaig Farm to average £438.33 (+£67.35) and to 236p/kg for two; 178kg LimousinX from 6 Blaich to average 179.24p/ kg (+15p).

A total of 204 heifer calves sold to £840 for three 278kg SimmentalX from Saulmore Farm to average £524.49 (-£2.46) and to 328p/kg for two; SimmentalX from Scammadale Farm, to average 210.98p/kg (nc).

Bulling heifers sold to £1,120 for a British BlueX from South Achinduin.

In calf heifers sold to £1,800 for a SimmentalX from Mrs I MacColl, Mid Farm, Lismore. In-calf cows sold to £1,350 from Drumaglea, Tiree and heifers with calves at foot sold to £1,020 for a LimousinX from Ellary Farms.
