Young players smash 20th badminton competition
Young badminton stars aced the 20th Kintyre Primary Schools Badminton Competition last Saturday at Campbeltown Grammar School.
To commemorate the competition’s 20th anniversary, each participant received a commemorative medal and goody bag.
Funding towards this was provided by Campbeltown Common Good Fund and Machrihanish Airbase Community Company (MACC).
At the end of a successful day’s play, the awards and medals for the successful competitors were presented by Cameron McNair, MACC chairman.
Anne Littleson, organiser of the competition, said: ‘I’m delighted that this competition is still running after 20 years and although the numbers participating are not as high as they have been in the past, the quality and standard of play is every bit as good.
‘I would like to thank all those who have helped to support the event over the years and we are particularly grateful to MACC and Campbeltown Common Good Fund for their sponsorship of the 20th anniversary competition.’
