A black Audi car was seen to be driven in a dangerous manner, failing to obey a red traffic light and colliding with a roads vehicle at about 1.50pm on Saturday February 1, on the Old Military Road at the Rest and Be Thankful.

Police attended and traced the vehicle to Inveraray where it failed to stop. The vehicle was later found at Auchindrai­n in a ditch. The 31-year-old man who was driving was arrested for alleged drink driving and driving without insurance. A blood sample was taken for analysis and the man was charged with the offences.

Police and the SSPCA have been made aware of a number of cats that have recently been injured in the Sound of Kintyre area. Investigat­ions are ongoing to establish if there is any criminalit­y involved and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car’s wing mirror was smashed at about 3am on Tuesday January 25, in Burnbank Street, Campbeltow­n.

Police are investigat­ing and appealing for witnesses after graffiti was painted onto a wall in the common close at 48 Longrow, Campbeltow­n, between Saturday January 25 and Monday January 27.

Two house windows were smashed in Tormhor, Carradale, between 10.30am and 9.50pm on Thursday January 30.

Three bronze-coloured plant pots were stolen from an unlocked garden shed at Smith Drive, Campbeltow­n, between Sunday January 26 and Tuesday January 28.

The door to a flat at 27 Longrow, Campbeltow­n was damaged and forced open between Wednesday January 19 and Saturday February 1. Nothing was stolen from the flat.

A quantity of heating oil was stolen from Keppols Farm, Ballygrant, between 5pm on Saturday January 18 and 1pm on Sunday January 19.
