Campbeltown Courier

It has to be A2B!

-

For the past four years, Hamish Meryon has been delivering the goods with his A2B Courier Service, Oban, winning praise from customers along the way.

The business has grown from one man with his van to seven vehicles and nine employees.

Hamish spotted a gap in the market in the West Highlands for a smaller, more personal, 24/7 service than all the big names are currently offering.

Hamish, who learned his courier and logistic skills working for other businesses such as Oban Express, said: ‘I started off with one contract run and gradually built it up from there. It was just me when I started working out of my back porch. Now, we are down to Glasgow six days a week and we are currently doing one run a month down to England.’

While the company has grown in size, it has kept its nimbleness. If the demand is there, Hamish said that the whole business can rotate in a day.

Hamish and his team have three small parcel vans, a LWB, hi-roof Ford Transit Custom, two LWB hi-roof VW/Mercedes parcel vans each with a 4.3m payload and the fleet’s latest addition: a tail lift Luton Box-van.

A2B operates day and night from the old Tweed Mill yard on Soroba Road, where it has been based for almost a year after outgrowing its previous location at Glengallan Industrial Estate.

While its based in Oban, A2B operates throughout Central Scotland, Argyll and the Highlands, and is available for contract courier work, inter-branch stock transfers for businesses, and one-off or regular store uplifts, and light removals for both the commercial and domestic markets.

A2B is fully-insured with hire and reward, public liability, and goods in transit cover backed by reliable, professional and experienced staff.

But don’t just take their word for it: this is what satisfied customers have to say: ‘What an amazing team at A2B. I needed an item delivered before going away for the weekend. They responded straight away with a full update on the status of my parcel. What an excellent service; other companies should be learning from this great team.’

‘Great friendly service. Show up on time, do what they say, and I’ll be using them again.’

‘A2B did work at pretty short notice. They also picked up an extra, unarranged item, which was great.

‘The service team replying to messages were also quick, polite, and helpful. Highly recommended.’
