Please be kind to each other

-

After venturing out in to this weird, crazy world that we are living in right now, to go to Campbeltown to get some shopping earlier this week, I couldn’t believe how anxious and scared I felt just to go out and get some food to feed my family.

As someone who lives out of town a bit, I am in the habit of only shopping about once a week anyway, and with quite a big family I always do a fairly big shop, but I was so nervous about carrying out such a routine, normal thing. The shops are limiting the number of people in stores at any one time, which is good in terms of protecting our health, but I couldn’t help but feel it left the people outside with little else to do other than judge what everyone was coming out with in their trolley.

This awful situation we have found ourselves in of late has, in many ways, brought the community together and made you realise how many people out there are willing to help, but it had sadly also brought out the worst in some people. I feel that everyone needs reminded to step back, think before they act or form an opinion, and realise that right now nearly everyone is feeling lost, alone, confused, stressed and unsure what to do for the best.

Even trying to decide when best to make the journey to Campbeltown, knowing you are using up precious fuel in your car, is a struggle, because if the shelves are bare it is not so easy just to pop back tomorrow or later.

Please be kind to each other and remember we are all in this together. Name and address supplied.
