Debut EP success for Kintyre’s Rhuvaal

Members of a young folk band which originated in Kintyre woke up hours after the launch of their debut EP to find it sitting between Stevie Wonder and Fleetwood Mac in an iTunes download chart.

Rhuvaal told the Courier that they were ‘absolutely delighted’ to wake up just hours after Horizon launched, at midnight last Friday (May 15), to find the record was at number 37 on the iTunes Album Download Charts. They were also delighted to discover they made it to number one on the World Genre Album Charts.

Band member Raymond Gosling said: ‘Now that our EP is out, we would like to thank everyone involved. First of all, we would like to thank Mark Leishman at 113 Sound Studio for recording and mixing all of the tracks on the EP, and thank you to Keith Morrison at Wee Studio, who mastered Horizon.

‘A massive thank you to all the guys at Birnam CD for being so helpful with everything in the process of making the CDs and making them available for you to listen to on all social media platforms. We couldn’t recommend them enough!

‘A big thank you to Craig Espie for designing the artwork for the EP and for creating all our promotional posters which we have been using over the past few weeks on our social media pages.

‘Also, thank you to James Murdoch who not only helped with lighting during the recording of our music video, but he also played bass guitar on all the recordings on the EP.

‘Finally, we would like to thank every single one of you for allowing us to do what we love. We plan to head straight back into the studio to start working on a new album once everything is back to normal.’
