Dunaverty

Sixteen ladies contested the Centenary Trophy on Saturday with nett and gross scores counting as the second of three rounds for the Club Championship.

Early players came home with some great scores. Lindsay Garrett scored a 65, closely followed by Mary Wilson on 66, however, the lunchtime tee off suited Nichola Kidd as she returned with a fantastic 64. The Club Championship is going to be a tight last round as just five shots separate the three leaders. Lindsay Garrett and Nichola Kidd carded gross 76 each. 1 Lindsay Garrett 76 BIH; 2 Nichola Kidd 76; 3 Ailie MacBrayne 77.

Dunaverty’s Tapoc Cup had a great turnout of members on a perfect golfing day with light winds and warm sunshine.

This was played as a stableford and with six players on 40 points or better it was a fairly close contest. Jimmy Williamson was one of three recording 40 points but Ross Sinclair and Willie Ralston each racked up 41 points.

The day belonged to Bobby Dalziel, however, who covered the outward and inward nines in 35 each for a scratch score of 70 - a superb 45 points which earned him the cup. 1 Bobby Dalziel, 40 points; 2 Ross Sinclair 41 BIH; 3 Willie Ralston 41; 4 Ken MacMillan 40 BIH; 5 Steven Garrett 40 BIH; 6 Jimmy Williamson 40.

Tarbert

Tarbert ladies met at Glenralloch last Saturday for the Columba Pairs.

By their own admission scoring wasn’t great but the chat was good and Frances

Hardie and Rona Young were the winners.

The gents competed for the August Medal. Iain Johnstone junior edged out his dad on the better inward half after shooting 64 nett. Lewis Preston took third place, also on 64, but with the poorer inward half. This Saturday, the gents compete for the James Johnson Cup before the Club Championship the following two weekends.
