Youths fighting

A large group of youths was allegedly involved in a disturbanc­e at about 2.55am on Sunday August 16, in the grounds of the Lorne and Lowland Church, Longrow, Campbeltow­n, during which some members of the group were fighting.

Tablets found

A 40-year-old woman was searched by police at about 10.40pm on Tuesday August 18, in Kinloch Road, Campbeltow­n, and was allegedly found in possession of a large number of tablets. The tablets will be sent for analysis and, if found to be controlled drugs, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Careless driving

Police are appealing for witnesses after a white van with a poppy on the front grille was reported being driven in a careless manner, while attempting to carry out an overtake manoeuvre on the A83 near to Glencraigs Farm, Campbeltow­n, at about 8.20pm on Thursday August 20.

The van aborted the overtake manoeuvre but two oncoming northbound vehicles collided while taking evasive action to avoid a collision with the van.

Window smashed

Police are investigat­ing after someone smashed the window of a flat on Longrow, Campbeltow­n, by throwing a stone through it at about 1am on Sunday August 23.

Alarming behaviour

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged after allegedly behaving in an alarming manner at about 2.45am on Sunday August 23, at Albyn Avenue, Campbeltow­n.

Woman assaulted

An 18-year-old man allegedly assaulted a woman at about 11pm on Saturday August 22, in Jamieson Street, Bowmore, Islay. He was later arrested and charged with the offence.
