Get your career back on the right track

-

After a year full of uncertainty and change, it’s time to take the reins and get your career back on the right track. Whether you’re thinking about life after school, or want to retrain for a whole new career, Argyll College UHI can help you achieve your goals. You’ll be able to get recognised qualifications all without having to venture too far from home. We’re now accepting applications for our full-time courses which will start in September this year.

With over 60 courses to choose from, whatever your interest, whatever the level, we’re sure to have something to suit you. Some of the subjects on offer include Agriculture, Business, Beauty, Computing, Childcare, Social Sciences, Healthcare and more. As a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands, we also have access to a wide range of degree and post-graduate programmes.

If you like the look of one of our courses but want to find out more, keep an eye on our upcoming drop-in sessions. Starting early March, we’ll be hosting a series of virtual events, all of which will be free to attend. Each week will focus on a specific subject area and be led by one of our expert teaching staff.

The sessions will give you a chance to learn about the courses we have on offer, and the possible career options and progression routes available. You’ll get the chance to meet our friendly lecturers and course leads, who may even go on to teach you in the future! There might also be an opportunity to speak to current students and hear first-hand about their experience of the course and the college so far.

Our first session on Tuesday 9th March at 6pm focuses on our SWAP Access to Nursing course, designed specifically for people who have been out of formal education for at least 3 years. It prepares adult returners pursuing a career in the health industry for entry into Higher Education and can lead to a place at college or university. Applications for the Access to Nursing course close on Monday 19th April, so the session is a great chance to find out everything you need to know.

Our second session on Wednesday 17th March at 6pm will take a look at our HNC Social Services course. A nationally recognised qualification, this course is aimed at people who want to work in a variety of social service settings and support individuals with varying needs.

For further information and a full list of all our upcoming drop-in sessions please visit our website. Although free to attend, places must be booked in advance so be sure to register your interest!
