Shirley, who was brought up in Oban, took early retirement last October after ending her career working locally with the District Nursing Team in Oban and as a Practice Nurse at Easdale Medical Practice.

It closed the chapter on more than 30 years of caring for people which saw her start as an auxiliary nurse at the former County Hospital in Oban before a move to London in the late 1980s.

In London, she spent time working as a nanny to a couple whose child was a best friend to a young Princess Beatrice, which saw her visit Buckingham Palace and effectively rub shoulders with the Duke and Duchess of York. She went on to rise through the ranks at major hospitals in Hammersmith and Charing Cross, as well as managing in the National Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow before a return to Oban in 2004, taking up a post in A&E for over 8 years prior to a move to community nursing.

Shirley said: ‘I am really excited about bringing these aesthetic treatments to Oban and aim to deliver a quality professional service with the consideration and care for the client’s wellbeing being pivotal to all care administered.

People come in with a smile on their face and leave with an even bigger smile on their faces.

It feels really good putting the key in the door every day and knowing that everyone who comes in leaves happier.
