Amazing Campbeltown
If anyone needs reminding of how amazing Campbeltown is, they only need to look at the events of last week.
Between them, Campbeltown Malts Festival and the Mull of Kintyre half marathon and 10k races brought thousands of people to the area.
We never tire of meeting new people and hearing their stories and the malts festival and race weekend are fantastic opportunities for this.
They also provide the chance to catch up with people from the same events in previous years, with many visitors returning annually and creating lasting friendships.
When asked what they most enjoy about the whisky festival, the most common answers given - apart from whisky - were the atmosphere and the people of Campbeltown.
The same can be said in reverse, as although the whisky community is international, it is extremely tight-knit and welcoming and encouraging of new people.
We should be proud of our town, with which so many people around the world have fallen in love, be it for whisky, scenery or a myriad of other reasons.
It may be small but Campbeltown is mighty and punches well above its weight in terms of the quality of events it offers the community and visitors.
