Cardiff mechanic going places

In the January 2017 issue of CM we reported on the story of 18-year-old mechanic Luke Riddiford and his business, Ridd’s Ramps in Aberdare, just outside Cardiff. For £20 per hour you can rent a bay in Luke’s modern workshop and have access to tools and professional expertise when working on your vehicle. Well, in just three short months, Luke’s business has been moving forward in leaps and bounds.

With the help of Cardiff Council, Luke has been able to move to larger city centre premises, which has allowed him to expand his business. The council has also asked for costings with a view to opening another workshop in the city and is currently looking for a suitable location. As if that wasn’t enough, Luke has also been approached to host a proposed television show for Channel 4 on the subject of modifying cars.
