Electric window settings

-

One of the electric front windows on my 2010 Mondeo seems to have lost its settings, following an icy morning when it wouldn’t open. Now it only opens about 2cm before stopping. Can it be reprogrammed to operate correctly? Andrew S I am assuming that by repeatedly pressing the window switch, the window will eventually open fully. If this is the case, the parameters just need to be reset, due to the window having been stuck in position by the frost. To do this, you will need to re-initialise the window motor. This is done as follows: Turn on the ignition and start the engine. Press and hold the window switch in the ‘Close’ position until the window is fully closed, then release the switch. Press the window switch to the ‘Close’ position three times for one second. Press the window switch fully to the ‘Automatic open’ position and release it. The window should now open fully. Once open, press the button fully to the ‘Close’ position and release it. The window should now fully close automatically. If this is not the case, start the procedure again. Once the window operation is correct, turn off the engine. If the window will not open even after continually pressing the button, the problem may be a failed regulator cable. This will require a new unit to rectify the problem.
