MMI not working

-

The LCD (MMI) and the controls of MMI are not working in my 2004 Audi A6. I have already checked the fuse and it is OK. I have also replaced the LCD, but it is still not working, and neither is the control panel for the MMI. Do you have any suggestions? Paul Guasque

You mention that you have checked the fuse, but are you referring to the main MMI fuse in the dashboard and have you also checked the fuse to the DVD drive unit in the boot? If you have not checked the latter then this would be the next thing to do.

There was an issue with the A6, which involved a rear washer pipe splitting and flooding the amp in the boot with water, putting it out of service. This would also be worth checking.

There is a slim possibility that the system simply needs to be reset and this can be done by pressing the ‘SETUP’ button, centre knob and upper-right soft key all at the same time. This may restore the operation, but as you have no display at all, as opposed to a locked display, it is more likely that one of the other suggestions will be more effective. If none of these work, it is highly likely that the main control unit needs replacing.
