Road dirt can cause the rear pads to seize in their carriers on the Abarth and 1.4, causing the brakes to stick on, which generates heat and, if not taken care of in time, will kill the rear wheel bearings. Cleaning up the carriers and applying a copper-based grease where necessary and repeating the process as soon as the pads start to stick is the best remedy. The same happens on all models on the front discs, which results in a grinding noise and will wear the pads and discs prematurely.
