Car Mechanics (UK)

ADDITIONAL NOTES

-

This job is very time-consuming and will almost certainly take at least a full day, especially if this is the first time you have tackled it. The front of the vehicle has to be raised and supported on strong axle stands, carefully positioned, to take the weight of the car while you are underneath it. Wear protective shoes with steel toecaps to guard against falling components. If changing the gearbox as well as the clutch assembly, closely study both the new and original transmission units prior to installation, to make sure they are compatible. Relevant spanner sizes are shown in brackets in our captions. References to left- and right-hand sides are from the point of view of someone sitting in the vehicle.
