BATTERY, POLLEN & LIGHTS

-

28 CHECK BATTERY

The battery is located in the spare wheel well in the boot, underneath the removable boot floor panel and spare wheel. Use a battery tester to check its condition. Make sure the battery clamp and its terminals are secure and that there are no traces of water in the floor of the spare wheel well.

29 CHECK REAR LIGHTS

Switch on the ignition and operate all of the lights, including the brakes. Check the bulbs at the rear. If any need replacing, open the boot, detach the trim panel next to the back of the light unit, then unscrew a square/rectangular piece of plastic to release the light unit. Remove the unit and change the bulb.

30 CHECK FRONT LIGHTS

After checking the rear lights, do the same at the front. If any bulbs need replacing, space is a little tight, especially at the offside where the air-box has to be detached from its hoses (see Step 6) and an electrical plug undone from underneath before it can be lifted to access the back of the light unit.

31 CHANGE POLLEN FILTER

The pollen filter is located underneath the passenger side glovebox. First, undo a couple of plastic trim screws and release a large trim panel, then unclip a small plastic panel to expose the filter. Extract the filter, noting how it is fitted, then slide in a new one and refit the plastic panel and the trim panel.
