Indicator fault

-

To the driver, the indicators on this 2008 Vauxhall Combo Van appeared to be working correctly – he could hear the familiar clicking sound when indicating left and right, and the indicator on the dash was illuminated. Only after receiving the blast of a fellow motorist’s horn on more than one occasion when making a left turn, did the driver get out and check the indicators. Turned out the right indicator was working OK, but the left was not.

The Combo van is based on the Vauxhall Corsa and, like the Corsa, the flasher unit controls both sides of the indicators. This unit is hidden away in a difficult-toaccess housing at the rear nearside of the engine bay, just beside the battery. Once we had unscrewed the cover, the flasher unit was quickly replaced, restoring operation to the indicators.

?? ?? With the top cover removed, the flasher unit is easy to access and replace.
