FOXWELL NT414 PRO
£199 www.gendan.co.uk 01792 588002
For many DIY users, the £70 difference between the Clarke CEOBDPRO and Foxwell’s NT414 Pro will be money well spent. For starters, the tool and generously-sized cable (which can be separated) are stored and protected within a sturdy moulded plastic case and the tool itself feels considerably more substantial and hard-wearing, with its case being clad in thick rubber edging. The graphics are very upmarket and clear, despite the fairly small screen. Aside from offering all the functionalities of the Clarke (and the pricier Laser), the Foxwell also covers the SRS (airbag and seatbelt pretensioners), anti-lock braking and automatic transmission systems over and above standard engine interrogation. Free updates are available only for the first 18 months post-purchase.
