TIREINSIGHT SMARTPHONE TPMS KIT (INTERNAL)

After being disappointed by FOBO’S Bluetooth offering, we were pleased with the performance of Tireinsight’s Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) system, even though you have to remember to switch on your phone’s Bluetooth function and open the relevant app prior to driving off. The internally-mounted sensors are of a very high quality, although they are rather large and you need to be wary that they might not fit within a small, older car’s wheel rims. The Google Play-based app downloaded and installed instantly on our Android smartphone – the app is designed with user-friendliness in mind and, crucially, requires no driver intervention as long as the mobile phone is mounted securely within sight and is not handled while driving, thus avoiding breaking any laws. The pressure readings were accurate and temperature readings are also provided. We appreciated the different pop-up warnings that were displayed on the smartphone screen, which indicate not only a sudden deflation but also abnormal low and high pressure alerts, all of which are accompanied by audible alarms. Our only potential concern is that the non-replaceable sensor battery life is quoted as three years.
