Fitting exterior components such as bumpers and headlights from a later model or a limited edition version is sometimes a viable option for customising. For example, the later MG TF bumpers and headlights can be fitted on earlier MGFS, which helps to update the older models, or the bonnet on a first-generation BMW MINI Cooper S can be fitted onto a Cooper or One, along with the tailgate and rear spoiler. Finding a colour-matched panel can save time and money on respraying, but secondhand parts may not be in as good a condition as you hope for.
