PANEL KITS

The ultimate in exterior accessories has got to be a panel kit that transforms a massproduction vehicle into something exotic and completely unrecognisable. The kit car market has several such kits, where you can change a Toyota MR2 into a Ford RS200 or a Ferrari 360, a Mercedes 500 SL or BMW Z3 into a Ferrari California (seen at right), or a Mazda MX-5 into a TVR or Ferrari GTO. Some panel kits bear a close resemblance to the cars they are trying to replicate, whereas others are merely passable.
