BIG, BIGGER, BIGGEST

In your Editorial in the January 2017 issue, when you compared the 1989 Jetta and the 2016 Peugeot, I was amazed that the bhp-perlitre had doubled in 17 years. What also struck me was that the 2016 Peugeot was 378mm (15 inches) wider than the 1989 Jetta. This huge increase perhaps explains why I find driving in narrow and congested town streets, as well as parking in supermarket car parks, more difficult every year. And I was thinking it was due to old age! Geoff Renshaw
