These cars employ Longlife service schedules, where the need for service work is indicated on the dash. However, we also suggest mileage/time intervals. ‘OIL’ DISPLAY EVERY 10,000 MILES or 12 MONTHS Change engine oil and oil filter Check coolant level and strength Check tyre condition and pressures Check brake/clutch fluid level and strength Check screenwash fluid level Check battery Check wiper blade condition Check washer jet operation Check operation of all controls, instrument­s, lights and seatbelts Check front brake pad thickness visually ‘INSPECTION’ SERVICE EVERY 20,000 MILES or 24 MONTHS All the above PLUS Check front brakes; clean or renew as necessary Check rear brakes; clean or renew as necessary Check handbrake operation; adjust if necessary Check exhaust condition and mountings Check all underbonne­t components and hoses Check auxiliary drivebelt condition and tension Check brake lines for any leaks Change pollen filter Check transmissi­on oil level Check underbody condition Check driveshaft condition Check steering and suspension components Lubricate all locks, hinges and catches Lubricate sunroof guide rails, if applicable EVERY 24 MONTHS Change brake/clutch fluid Change coolant (not needed if G12 Longlife coolant is used) EVERY 40,000 MILES or 48 MONTHS All the above PLUS Change air filter Change spark plugs Check power steering fluid level EVERY 100,000 MILES Change Longlife engine coolant
