CLARKE GWH7
£47.98 www.machinemart.co.uk
With its funky Union flag decoration, there is much to like about the GWH7. The visor is slightly larger than that of the Siegen and the Sealey helmets. The head-strap feels more substantial, too, and boasts a larger adjustment range, with all testers being able to find a comfortable position. The removable protective plastic lens is held to the outside of the visor by side brackets and a small recess is provided for a finger, allowing it to be removed in seconds with no dismantling required. The effort is rather wasted, however, because the plastic visor cover is not stocked by Clarke as a spare part. We also found that, while the official price was far less, the darkening screen was smaller than that of the Sealey. It also lacks a prescription lens bracket on the inside.
