The diesel models require an oil and filter change at 12,000 miles, and all models can suffer head gasket failure, so check for signs of oil/water contamination. Running issues on the

diesel are often down to failing injectors or a leaking fuel rail, in which case you should be able to spot evidence of leaks. A duff fuel rail pressure release valve can also be responsible for cutting out. If a Voyager smokes, loses power and starts using more fuel, suspect the EGR. It’s

tucked away at the back of the engine and you need to remove the wiper tray to access it. Fuel pump failure is also possible, although it’s worth checking the system for air locks (especially if the plastic fuel filter housing cracks) before ordering a replacement.

?? ?? A 150bhp 2.8 CRD was available from 2004. It’s a strong unit but watch for injector issues and leaks from the fuel rail. The petrol 3.3 V6 is smooth and actually more frugal than the flaccid 2.4.
