Q My 2010 Jaguar XF has gone into ‘restricted performance’ mode and the fault codes ‘P0235’, ‘P00BD’, ‘P1247’ and ‘P006A’ are being displayed. Stuart Anderson
A Code ‘P0235’ refers to a MAP sensor malfunction, ‘P00BD’ indicates a fault in the MAF sensor circuit, ‘P1247’ relates to a turbo boost fault and ‘P006A’ means there is incorrect correlation with the MAP/MAF sensors. My first move would be to look for any breaks in the wiring near the plugs of the MAF and MAP sensors and also check the security and integrity of the connecting plugs. If the electrical connections appear good and no obvious breaks can be seen in the wiring, I would make a careful inspection of the induction circuit and check for possible air leaks.
Other than this, the most probable reason for the fault codes appearing together is that the secondary turbocharger shut-off valve link arm has failed due to corrosion. This is a common failure on this model and a repair kit is available (part number C2D23020), but this is only applicable if the nut is present on the actuating rod. As long as this is the case, the modified secondary turbocharger shut-off valve vacuum actuator and link arm can be fitted, ensuring that the lock-nut for the secondary turbocharger shut-off valve vacuum actuator rod is not disturbed. If the nut is not present on the actuating rod, then further investigation into this area will be needed.
