MINING FOR EVS

 In the developed countries’ rush to be eco-friendly and adopt battery-powered cars, let’s not forget that batteries for these vehicles require the mineral cobalt. At present some of the largest (if not the largest) deposits are located in the Congo. This country has an appalling human rights record and has children reportedly as young as four forced to mine this mineral.

So I would like to ask the eco warriors of this world: “How easy do you sit in your electric car knowing small children have probably died so you can feel smug?”

The only sustainable way forward is either, in my humble opinion, hydrogen or bio-fuelled ultra-clean diesels.
