Locking fault

The central locking is not working with the key on my 2010 Ford Fusion 1.4 diesel. The key only opens the driver’s door, but the central locking only works on the remote. I have checked the fuse, but it was fine.

If the remote central locking is working using the fob but not when using the key, the most likely cause is failure of the lock mechanism in the door.

Before removing the door panel to inspect this, I would check the wiring loom between the door and the vehicle body because a break in one of these wires would have a similar effect. If the problem is within the door lock, it may be possible to clean the micro-switch using an aerosol switch cleaner, but this would not be known until the lock was removed and examined.
