Low headlights

-

I have a 2016 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI Executive with Xenon headlights. I love the car, but the dipped headlights are useless on dark roads. The main beams are fine. I rang my local Skoda garage, they said the lights are factory set, and sensors control their height. The other Superbs I had did have a height adjuster on the dash – this model has none.

Any advice you could give me on how to adjust them would be really appreciated. Tim O Meara

As you have discovered Skoda give no method of adjusting the headlamps as this is supposed to be done automatically to adapt to the best road conditions. There is an adjustment that can be made using diagnostic equipment or you can manually adjust the height of the beam from the headlamps directly, but you should have this done on a beam-setter to ensure that the lights are not aimed above the permissible level.

One other point you can check is that the level sensor on the front suspension does not have a slightly bent bracket, this may be affecting the setting of the headlamp. The bracket should be found attached to the lower suspension arm on the nearside of the vehicle.
