Bish, bash, Bosch... Job done on injector extraction

-

 With ranges including diesel and petrol injector extractors already available, Laser Tools has now introduced a new extractor (part number 7802) that’s specifically designed for extracting the Bosch CR solenoid-type diesel injectors, without the need to remove the injector solenoid or internals.

Mount the tool directly on to the injector and over the solenoid, securing it tightly in place by four screws, tightened by a 3mm hex key. The tool grips the injector securely while protecting the solenoid from any damage. Then attach a slide hammer with a 5/8in thread (the Laser 2.2kg hammer is part number 5850, or the 4.4kg alternative is part number 4811) to remove the injector.

If access is limited, the injector off-line adaptor (part number 6123) can also be used, which allows up to 30° of angle for the slide hammer connection. If an injector really doesn’t want to budge, connect up an air hammer (Laser recommends part number 6031) using the air hammer extractor adaptor (part number 6264); the impact and vibration will extract the most stubborn injector.
