The front axle is lifted from the Mk7 Clubsport S. Made of aluminium, it’s sti er than a regular Mk7’s and 3kg lighter too. ‘We reconfigured the wishbone bushings for higher precision and more precise steering feel, retuned the spring rates and the bump stops for better handling and modified the damper hydraulics,’ says head of dynamics Karsten Schebsdat. Similar mods grace the rear axle, which introduces a new knuckle and new control-arm bushes, for more toe-in as forces build during cornering, increasing stability.
