Same basic recipe, di erent (but equally tasty) dishes. VW’s Golf GTI Clubsport and Golf R might share a lot of DNA, but the former is a front-driven, lap record-hunting, decal-ridden hooligan, while the latter is designed to beat any B-road to a pulp with supercar-rivalling grip and pace without making a fuss about it. Both have a special Nürburgring mode, while the R goes one step further with tyre-destroying drift tech.
