Business unit gets approval

A PURPOSE built packing and storage building can be built for a Cilcennin business following planning approval.

Avicenna, a family herbal preparation business, employees 12 people at its site at Bidaren.

The application is for a new building for storage and distribution of packages with space for staff to fill, label and barcode all the products after production and then store them in a dedicated unit. It is a single storey building with a packing area at one end, a storage area at the other with an office and staff facilities in the middle.

A new access will be created from the county road and passing places, parking and turning area also put in.

Objections to the plan included concerns about an increase in traffic, the introduction of an industrial building to a rural village and the use of a greenfield site.
