A family statement, issued via South Wales Police, said: “We are beyond heartbroken with the sudden loss of Tony.

“He was such a huge part of the family that we just don’t know how we are going to continue without him.

“We can only describe him as a first-rate, loving, caring family man and he was always the first to offer his help and support.

“He could be a bit of a joker and we smile now at how cringey some of them could be.”

It added: “Throughout his whole life he had a love and passion for motorcycles which he passed on to so many family members.

“He was an experienced rider and we, as family, take some comfort in the fact he died doing something he absolutely loved.

“We have been touched and overwhelmed by the amount of support and kindness we have received from family, friends and the wider community.

“Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the emergency services at the scene who tried to help Tony.”
