Beware scams Dyfed-powys Police Economic Crime Team has issued warnings about scams. Criminals have been sending texts and emails to lure people to apply for the Covid-19 vaccine. It’s not only texts and emails. Beware of cold calls regarding the vaccine as scammers are also asking people to pay for it over the phone. Remember that the vaccine is free of charge and no-one can pay for a ‘priority slot’. If you receive one of these calls, hang up and block the number. Another scam is people being texted or emailed about how they can see where they are in the ‘vaccine queue’ or stating that the NHS need to confirm details before a vaccine is able to be given. If someone clicks on the link, they are taken to a fake NHS website which requests them to enter in all sorts of information including bank details, date of birth, etc. If you have received an email that you are not quite sure about, forward it to the Suspicious Email Reporting Service (SERS) at report@phishing.gov.uk. Suspicious text messages should be forwarded to 7726. This free-of-charge short code enables your provider to investigate the origin of the text and take action, if found to be malicious. The NHS does not need your bank details and would not ask for them in an email or text or by phone.

Meddygfa’r Tymbl The surgery asks that all enquiries are made by telephone.

You will still be able to get advice from a doctor, or other health professional, either over the phone or in person. You can also use an online consultation service for advice; you complete a series of questions online and a doctor will review these. You may be advised to contact the surgery or the surgery may contact you by email, text or telephone. https:// tumbleandcrosswales.webgp.com/ Prescription requests should be placed in the letterbox of Meddygfa’r Tymbl or in the box at Cross Hands Surgery. Meddygfa’r Tymbl is also asking patients not to phone for vaccination information but to wait to be contacted. You can refer to the website and Facebook page, where information will be placed.
